【摘要】:ThispracticeisapplicabletodistinguishbetweenproperlyandimproperlyextrudedPVCplasticpipe.Itcanbeusedto:Revealincompleteexsiccationofcompoundbeforeorduringextrusion(Note1),Determinethepresenceofstressinthepipewallproducedbytheextrusionprocess(Note2),Determinewhetherinfusedareasarepresent,andRevealcontamination.Note18212;Residualmoistureinthecompoundvaporizesatextrusiontemperaturesandisnormallyevacuatedasitformsvapor.Pocketsofmoisturetrappedinthepipewallresultfromincompleteexsiccationofthecompound,andmayreducethephysicalpropertiesofthepipe.Note28212;Minorresidualstressinthepipewillnotimpairfieldperformanceandhandleability.High-residualstresshasnoproveneffectonperformance,butmayimpairhandleabilityduringinstallation.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforestimatingthequalityofextrudedpoly(vinylchloride)(PVC)plasticpipesbyobservingthereactionofpipespecimensafterexposuretohotairintheovenat180x00B1;5x00B0;Cfor30minduration.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
